FISHING REPORT
MOLANDS The cooler unsettled weather saw a downturn in sport with nets to over 100lb but very patchy on Molands. In the matches the top tactics have been pole with chopped worm/caster, corn or pellet fishing down the margins, method feeder with meat or wafter and bomb/waggler with 8mm pellet fished to the island. There were a couple of 20lb+ carp caught this week with boilies fished either to the island or close in down the margins accounting for the bigger fish.
GEARYS Carp are showing all around the pool with match weights to 168lb and a number of fish over 20lbs . The milder weather at the weekend saw lots of carp near the surface and pellet waggler or slapping on the pole came into play, Method feeder to the middle stumps with wafter or dead reds, bomb with pellet and corn or pellet fished down the margins have also worked well in matches. Pleasure anglers fishing for carp have caught best with boilies fished over a PVA bag.
LITTLE GEARYS a little slower this week but there were still 100lb+ catches being caught. Follow the wind for thebest catches with pegs 7-11 and 19-23 the most consistent areas. Carp to 19lb and F1s to 6lb have made up the bulk of the catches and maggot, pellet or corn fished down the margins have worked for the bigger nets. Method feeder and long pole fished shallow with pellet or caster is also working.
GRATUITIES Carp to 15lb, F1s to 2lb, bream to 3lb and tench to 4lb have all featured in catches this week in nets to over 70lb. Pole fished corn or pellet have been the top tactics but waggler with pellet to the island or a small method feeder has also been productive with pegs
1 – 8 the better area.
ANNIVERSARIES Fished hard through the week but improved over the weekend when 100lb was needed to win the match and the bigger f1s were showing . Pole fished pellet or caster on the deck and shallow has seen the better catches but bomb/waggler with 6mm pellet on the more open pegs has also been working well.
SIBLINGS A There have been good nets of carp and F1s on Siblings A with match weights to 120lb coming to short pole with meat. Corn, worm and dead reds fished over micros tight up to the island or down the margins was also producing decent nets.
SIBLINGS B Lots of F1s being caught from all around the pool. Meat, pellet or maggot fished up to the far bank or down the margins have caught nets to over 100lb with pegs 5 – 11 in the best form.
WILLOW Like all of the pools it was hard through the week but got better as the weather turned a little milder at the weekend. Meat at five metres, pellet fished on the long pole at 13 metres and waggler to the island have been the best tactics.
