With only weeks to go before the end of the season the biggest rainbow of the year has been landed at Rutland Water – a superb fish of 9lb 12oz to local angler Roy Bartram.
Roy, who lives at Edith Weston, virtually on the doorstep of Rutland Water, was bank fishing with Upppingham’s Ady Naylor.
The pair caught their fish in several areas around the lake on a Di7 with a large Boobie (Cat’s Whisker).
Roy’s bag of four fish weighed in at 17lb 12oz with Ady weighing in four for 12lb 2oz.
