Marukyu UK has appointed former Tackle Trade World editor Nick Marlow as its marketing manager.
The new role covers the Marukyu bait brand and also Ecogear and Nories predator brands.
John Loftus, chairman of Marukyu in Europe, said: “The move shows the ambition of both the Japanese parent company and our own desire to grow Marukyu, Ecogear and Nories brands here in the UK, Russia, Europe, Scandinavia, Middle East and Africa.
“Nick will be handling all aspects of advertising, public relations, market research and market development in the UK – and will coordinate brand management across Russia, Europe, Scandinavia, Middle East and Africa. We will be keeping him very busy and I am pleased to have secured another top level professional for our team.”
Nick joins Marukyu after nearly eight years of editing Tackle Trade World – a specialist trade only publication that serves the global sportfishing industry.
“This is a completely new challenge for me and one that I am very much looking forward to,” said Nick.
“It will be different being on this side of the fence – but it is also very exciting. Marukyu, Ecogear and Nories brands are very new on the European market – but with the professionalism, experience and support of both Marukyu and John Loftus to guide me – the future should be very bright for these brands.”
Nick officially joins the company on November 1st 2011.
