There’s a new home for the National Vintage Fishing Tackle Fair as the annual event moves to Kingsley Sports Centre in Redditch (post code B98 7UH).

The Sunday November 20th spectacular is the country’s largest and most popular vintage tackle fair with collectors taking over 40 stalls consisting of up to 120 tables of vintage fishing tackle and books for sale.
You can have fishing tackle valued for sale or insurance purposes by the sponsor, Neil Freeman of Angling Auctions, or you can bring along tackle to sell to the dealers.
Redditch is the spiritual home of British fishing tackle manufacture, a town that created such names as Allcock, Milward, JW Young, Albert Smith, Rudge’s, Aspindale and Sealeys to name but a few.
The tackle that these firms made along with that by other British makers and retailers such as Hardy, Cummins, Westley Richards and Farlow is also celebrated at the Fair along with that of leading European firms such as Abu of Sweden, Dam of Germany and Mitchell of France.
In addition to tackle and books for sale there are also a number of contemporary reel and rod makers represented at the fair including The Mill Tackle Company, run by former Youngs Production Manager Garry Mills of Redditch.
Stalls are available by contacting the organiser of the fair John Andrews on johneandrews@btinternet.com or by telephoning him on 07980 274383.  Entrance to the fair for the public is only £2 and the doors open at 9am.
