The hotly contested UK Angling Championship has now opened its doors for the chance to take part in arguably the most credible match series in the history of UK match fishing.
The tournament, which takes place over four rounds at some of the biggest commercials in the country, is limited to just 80 anglers. The top 40 from last years field gain automatic qualification with the final 40 places being decided by qualification in a £1000 cash match at Barston on Wed 11th April.
Over the last 26 years some of the biggest names in match fishing have put their stamp on the series and the 2011 title was won by Garbolino hot shot Jason Le Bosquet with an almost perfect performance across the 4 matches. “The UK Champs is one of the pinnacles in UK match fishing along with the Parkdean and Fish O Mania. To win it means everything as the field is very talented and you have to be consistent throughout. I’ll be back in 2012 hoping to repeat last years great performance” announced the Derbyshire match ace.
