Stourbridge angler Dave Gough had a shock in Sunday’s match at Moorlands Farm, when the ‘carp’ he was playing on the pole turned out to be a huge 6lb 4oz eel!

Dave was fishing luncheon meat at four metres in the afternoon match on Meadow Pool peg 37; and the Kidderminster fishery has confirmed that it’s the biggest ever landed there during a match. However it wasn’t enough to see him to the win – Roman Skura finishing top with 122-30 from peg 11 on his usual mussel down the edge ploy.
