Moorlands Farm responded to the hot spell over the weekend with some great fishing, with the last six matches on the Hartlebury complex all needing over 100lb to win.

Top of the pile with an impressive 196-10-0 in Friday afternoon’s open was Paul Cartwright, who drew peg 17 on Bank Pool in a match which produced two more weights over 140lb. But the best match of the weekend was on Saturday, when less then 2lb separated the top three. Halesowen’s Dave Williams won the day with 106-4-0 from Meadow peg 48, with Ian Wood on 105-14-0 from Meadow 45 and Lee Kirby third with 104-12-0 from Moors peg 1.
