Birmingham match team Alvechurch Fisheries have claimed victory in the biggest club angling competition of the year, the Bait Tech sponsored Angling Times Supercup. 

Fished at Tunnel Barn Fishery at Shrewley, the match saw 15 teams going head to head after a series of gruelling knockout rounds – five each from the Midlands, South and North of England. It was a true team effort as none of the Alvechurch anglers finished in the top six placings, but they used their local knowledge to all fish high up their sections to secure victory for the region by just three points from Northamptonshire based Finedon AS.
