How about this for a whiting? If you think it’s a monster you are right, in fact it’s the new British boat caught best after being ratified by the British record fish committee. 

The 7lb 6oz fish was caught using an Eddystone Eel by Mark Curtis off Plymouth and beats the old record, held since 1981, by 10oz.

Mark has donated it to the Natural History Museum, where it will form part of the national collection.
