Plymouth Castaways SAC member, Kristian Quenault, is claiming a new boat caught Grey Gurnard record with this fish weighing 2lb 8oz.The gurnard took a Savage Gear Sandeel over a wreck off Plymouth.

It was verified by respected angling journalist Mike Millman with the weight verified on a calibrated set of scales..Kristian was fishing from private boat ‘Jay Dee’ skippered by Jeffery Brownlow (also Castaways SAC records officer) in cold stiff easterly conditions. If accepted it will beat the existing record, set way back in 1976, by 1oz.
