Jamie Hughes is the new Midlands Match Angler of the Year after winning the annual event at Solihull’s Barston Lakes.

The event sees competitors fish two three hour matches in the same day, with the first match on the feeder and the second on the pole.

Jamie weighed in 28lb of F1s in the morning session for second in section, then had a superb three hour 99lb weight of bream and big F1s on the pole to win his section and score three points.

Also finishing on three points but second on weight was Jamie Hawkins. Danny Tresigne took third with four points and Keith Vaughn took fourth with five points.
