Anglers looking for a newcomer’s pole for commercial fisheries could do a lot worse than take a look at this offering from Middy, that has an RRP of £165.99 but which I have seen for sale online at under £90.

At that price it’s excellent value, not least become it comes with £38 worthy of accessories to get you going include two full elastication kits, a ready to use Pellet Carp Rig, a Middy box sticker and two Middy Slide Cups. The elastic kits include a normal sized bung, a giant winder bung, bushes, connectors and two elastics, one a 14-16 and one 18 rated.

The pole itself weighs 535gr at its 8m length, is rated to a 22 elastic and comes with a spare Power Take Apart Top Two Kit. Not the finest name in the known universe, but a lot for the money.

Price: RRP is £165.99 but I’ve seen it online for under £90.
