Sherwood fishery report
The Holmedale lake continues its good form for carp – 10lb. Match weights up to 90lb and pleasure catches in excess of 100lb Nottingham’s Jeff Newton again had a good day fishing waggler and prawn over loose fed hemp he had 21 carp between 4lb and 9lb from peg 33, a small method feeder cast to the islands and lily pads with hair rigged corn is producing lots of fish as is pole/pellet and paste fished at 6m and down the margin, all pegs worth a try. On the Sherwood lake peg 42 on the road side is still on top form Fred Bishamp added 13lb to the lake match record he held by weighing in 117lb 8oz made up of 7 skimmers – 2lb and 17 carp – 12lb caught on popped up bread fished between a foot off the bottom to just under the surface, On the Cavendish its still a skimmer bream every put in on pole corn and pellet, they are coming well off the bottom and you can sometimes catch them one foot deep, caster is sorting out some nice Autumn roach with some going well over the pound mark.
