The Holmedale lake back in top form after spawning, Eric Beminis from nearby Church Warsop won the 4 hour Sunday evening match with and impressive 198lb 8oz fishing pole and bread on the surface on peg 32 he had 33 carp – 10lb 2nd was Maltby’s Steve Underwood on peg 30 he alternated pole and paste and dog biscuit he finished with a creditable 97lb 8oz. Pleasure anglers are having some excellent sport from all round the lake best baits have been prawns and pellet fished down the margins and feeder cast to a feature, but don’t come without bread and biscuit for the warm calm days.
Away from carp fishing the Sherwood and Cavendish lakes are producing some fine nets of skimmers and roach, pole fished caster or 4mm soft pellet, bream – 4lb and roach – 1lb in nets – 55lb (on the Sherwood keepnets are permitted) best pegs 1-14 on the Cavendish.
