Angel Lakes catch and match report to 29th April 2007
Great start on Sunday to our 2nd birthday Celebrations with a full house match on Lookout Lake, with Andy Simpson getting 98lb 09oz a great weight for 5 hours fishing, with a ENE 5mph wind straight into his face, and water temperatures dropped this week. Well done Andy!!!
Pleasure anglers also enjoying tremendous sport even though with varying ambient and water temperatures the fishing is unbelievable on the 2 mixed coarse lakes both are producing excellently. The carp lake produces the goods best at dusk & dawn , with some good double figures as well coming out.
Lookout Mixed Coarse
Unbelievable sport on this now very well matured lake, even with various differences on water temperature, some good catches this week of Bream to 7lb 6oz , Best tench 5lb 9oz, best golden tench 2lb 4oz, good rudd & roach above lb, crucian to 4lb, perch to 1lb, best carp 12lb 4oz, best ghost 9lb 3oz,
Sundays 5 hour match weigh 98lb 9oz. well done to Andy Simpson Angel Lakes match team member.
Top 6 anglers took 321lb 38oz not bad considering it is April and water temperatures have dropped, also a ENE wind.!
Bowes Carp
Choice of pegs, bait and methods as well as time of the day are critical for good catches, either smaller or specimen sized fish, On Sunday 29th in a part afternoon session from 2.30 pm to 5 pm,
Colin Pine on peg 39 took 25 carp to 4lb on paste tight to margins on peg 40, good fishing Colin.
Best carp 22lb 6oz with four others over 20lb, and some good doubles as well as bags of smaller carp.
Bassetts mixed course
Even brand new beginners (with coaches giving tutorials) catch fantastic numbers and range of species of fish in this small sheltered pond.
Great sport and good silvers from rudd, golden rudd, ide, golden and blue orfe, skimmers, roach,
Plus some excellent golden tench and tench.
Coaching
More new anglers passing out and receiving certificates after coaching sessions, and both adults and junior beginners taking up the sport by getting coaching sessions. Some good numbers of sea and game anglers also converting to coarse fishing.
Junior club
Now moved to Friday evenings now the lighter nights are here, any one wishing to join the Angel Junior club are welcome and coaches present to help develop their skills on different methods, as well as expand their knowledge of watercraft, welfare, environmental and aquaculture issues, ground bait, hook baits etc. plus once a month a match between the club members.
Angel Now open from 7am till 8pm don’t forget after work price cutter ticket from 4pm till 8 am £4.00.

Overcast, Ambient Temp 14deg, Wind ENE 13mph gusting to 23mph, Humidity 87%, Barometer 1007.1 dropping, moon phase waxing gibbous, water temperature 14.4deg, DO 11.7ppm. Ph 7.83, birds not feeding, fish topping all over were well up in water in warmer thermals.

Tough nights fishing after all the rain from the night before but barometer dropping, and gusty windy conditions did not help presentation.
