REPORT
It has been a quiet week on the fishery with only a few pleasure anglers willing to fish in the much colder conditions. The weekend saw all of the pools covered with a thin layer of ice and the matches were fished after breaking the ice.
Considering the conditions, Little Gearys fished well on Saturday with Steve White catching lots of F1’s and crucians alternating between the pellet and pinkie at 13 metres for a 30lb winning weight, this tactic has been the best approach on all the pools after breaking ice.
The Winter League on Sunday saw 40 anglers breaking the ice on Molands, Anniversaries and Willow with only four anglers not weighing in and 25lb winning the match, it was not as hard as it could have been. Molands fished the best with Lee Richards winning on his long pole and pellet tactic on peg 44 on Scarecrow Point.
