REPORT

MOLANDS Fishing very well with match and pleasure catches in excess of 80lb caught this week. F1’s from 1 – 2½lb providing the main action but carp to double figures, big skimmers and tench also starting to show in numbers. The method feeder is the top tactic fished across to the island on some pegs tight but others you need to come down the first shelf about 2 – 3 metres. Polony, dead reds, pellet or corn have all been working well on the hook. Best pegs have been 2 – 13, 23, 27 – 29, 43 – 46 and 58 – 60.

GEARYS This lake is improving but still not at its best. Pleasure anglers reported catches to around 40lb of mixed carp and skimmers caught on pole and pellet during the milder weather through the middle of the week. Best weights on Sundays’ Winter League was 39lb which consisted of seven carp caught on straight lead and pellet from peg 9 and generally the high bank has been the best area from pegs 6 -15.

LITTLE GEARYS Although weights have not been enormous most anglers have enjoyed plenty of bites again from F1’s Hybrids in the main but skimmers and a few bigger carp also being caught. A small method fished tight to the island has been the most consistent approach but long pole and pellet or shallow tactics are also worth a try. Top pegs are 10 – 13, 21 and 25 – 29.

GRATUITIES Gratuties has been fishing very well with the corner pegs still the flyers but the near bank from pegs 3 – 6 also successful. Pellet feeder up to the island with small pieces of meat, polony or bread discs has been the best for carp with pole and pellet or chopped worm or caster accounting for mixed nets of carp, tench, skimmers and even some perch to nearly 2lb.

ANNIVERSARIES The top end from 1 – 6 is the best area with pole tactics catching mixed nets of small tench, carp, skimmers, roach, chub and the occasional small barbel. Caster or pellet are the top baits with corn or meat good change baits picking up the bigger tench to 4lb.

WILLOW Lots of bites with F1’s, tench, carp and skimmers coming well to pole fished pellet, caster or maggot.

SIBLINGS Very quiet on Siblings but the few anglers that fished it enjoyed good sport with skimmers and tench going well to pellet or caster fished down the first shelf at 5 or 6 metres out. The top end on the reed beds has been in good form.
