Ian also had a mixed bag. His net consisted mainly of silverfish which he caught on pole with maggot and caster over groundbait

Steve blitzed this first afternoon open with 134lb plus weight. With the sunny flat calm conditions Steve opted to fish shallow at 13m with meat and pellet and proceded to catch 18 carp into double figures
2nd L Sears, Daiwa/Marukyu, Peg Outer 21; 60-12-0
Luke Sears was second from outer peg 21. Luke opted to fish short pole and maggots for 35lb oif skimmers and later added 4 carp from the margins to boost his weight to 60lb
3rd L Wright, Map Leegem, Peg Island 4; 57-15-0
Lee alternated beteween shallow and deck fishing as well as margins later on for his carp dominated net.

Bright sunshine and flat conditions put pay to any large weights in this latest Vets open. Andy Sellars managed to get some carp to show interest fishing shallow with meat on a waggler. Andy cast around at cruising fish to snare 10 carp to 8lb

Len opted for a pole and pellet approach at 12m. He fed 4mm feed pellet and fished 6mm expander and corn over the top for 7 carp and a few skimmers
3rd C Line, Hallcroft, Peg Outer 21; 29-15-0
Chris was third also fishing pellet waggler to the nearby aerator. He caught carp to 12lb

The first friday afternnon match kicked off with a bang! Pete Miles of Doncaster came within 2oz of 200lb to win the match. Pete fished corn and pellet on short pole and later switched to the margins for 29 carp with some well into double figures.
2nd P Elliott, Map Leegem, Peg 59; 185-12-0
Ever consistent Paul Elliott came second with 185lb. Paul opted for a shallow approach alternating meat and pellet at 14m for 28 carp.
3rd N Speed, Shimano/Dynamite Baits, Peg 71; 98-14-0
Nick fished through the depth with meat at 13m for a mixed net of carp to 8lb and skimmers to 2lb.
