REPORT
MOLANDS Despite a very cold week Molands has been in petty good form with lots of bags around the 30 – 40lb mark and winning weights to 60lb+. F1’s and skimmers are providing the bulk of the action to either a method feeder fished up to the island or long pole with pellet. Carp to 15lb are being caught but are localised with Scarecrow Point the best area for carp bags. Top pegs for mixed nets are 2, 4, 12, 15, 29, 41 – 46 and 56 – 60.
GEARYS Fished much better this week with some cracking carp being caught with fish to 18lb weighed in during matches. Early in the week, bread and lead saw the better catches but towards the weekend, method feeder with 8mm banded pellet was accounting for the bigger catches. Decent nets of skimmers and brown goldfish also coming to the pole with pellet or paste fished short at 6 – 8 metres. Best pegs have been 6, 9, 13, 17, 29 – 32 and 36.
LITTLE GEARYS Nets of F1’s to 50lb have been coming to pole and pellet or a small method fished to the island. Skimmers, tench and the odd bigger carp responding to meat fished short at 6 metres. Best pegs are 3, 6 – 11, 21, 24 – 27.
GRATUITIES Fishing really well this week with mixed nets of carp, tench, skimmers and crucians. A small pellet feeder to the island or pole and pellet at 6 – 10 metres are the top tactics. Catches to 40lb+ are coming from all areas but pegs 1, 5, 8, 11 and 16 are the flyers.
ANNIVERSARIES The skimmers have been going really well on Anniversaries with fish from 8oz – 2lb making up bags to 40lb with pole and pellet or chopped worm and caster working best. Tench, carp and crucians are coming to meat or corn fished tight to the islands. Best pegs are 1 – 6, 10, 15, 17 and 21 -23.
WILLOW This pool is in good form with F1’s, carp, skimmers and tench showing on all pegs. The bigger carp in the 3 – 6lb range have been feeding well down the near margin and corn, meat or pellet have all accounted for decent nets. Mixed nets are coming to long pole and pellet.
SIBLINGS Tench and skimmers are coming to pellet or corn fished short on the pole. Carp are showing near the reed beds at the top end with fish into double figures and are coming to meat or boilies.
FIRST BAY/REEDY BAY/ALDER/CRESCENT These small pools have been busy this week with the anglers enjoying good sport from small carp, tench, skimmers and roach. Maggot, caster or pellet float fished down the first shelf works well on these pools.
