REPORT
MOLANDS Like all of the pools at the moment the fishing is a little up and down with the afternoon sessions best. Match weights to 80lb caught this week with 40 – 60lb framing. The more adaptive anglers are doing best with various tactics working at the moment. Straight lead and pellet or pellet feeder with boilies/pellet are accounting for the bigger carp and paste or chopped worm and caster are best for mixed bags of F1’s, skimmers, tench and crucians. Best pegs are 8 – 12, 19, 26 – 29, 41 – 46 and 54 – 60.
GEARYS Match weights to 100lb this week but pleasure anglers have reported bigger nets with carp providing the bulk of the action. Straight lead and pellet is working well fishing 8mm pellet at 25 – 30 yards accounting for fish up to 18lb. The skimmers are still trying to spawn but nets to 50lb caught on caster, maggot or paste have been taken this week. Best pegs are 1, 6, 7, 11, 19, 21, 28, 29 – 36.
LITTLE GEARYS Little Gearys has been a little harder this week but catches to 50lb of F1’s and skimmers are being caught. Paste or pellet fished close in down the near margin or pellet fished shallow on the long pole have been the best tactics. Best pegs are 3, 7 – 9, 13, 19, 21 and 27 – 29.
GRATUITIES Like all the pools Gratuities is fishing very well one day and the next hard but catches of tench and carp to 5lb are being had with either a small method feeder fished tight up to the island on pole fished at 5 – 6 metres out. Best pegs are 1, 6, 8, 9, 11 and 15.
ANNIVERSARIES There has been some good fishing on Anniversaries for silvers with skimmers, roach, crucians and tench coming to caster or worm on the pole or waggler with the open water the best area. A few carp showing to meat or paste fished tight up to the island with fish to 15lb caught this week.
WILLOW The pick of the pool with mixed nets coming to expander pellet at 8 – 10 metres on the pole. The carp are coming to pellet, meat or corn fished right tight into the near margin with fish to double figures but averaging around the 3lb mark.
SIBLINGS Patchy but the shallow end at the top end of the pool around the reed beds has been the best area. Tench to 6lb and a few carp into double figures are coming to float fished corn or meat.
