REPORT
MOLANDS The fishing has improved a lot this week with the milder weather making all species feed. Carp to 12lb, tench to 5lb, F1’s, skimmers and quality roach all showing in match nets to 60lb and pleasure anglers exceeding this. The best tactic has been to fish a pellet feeder to the island or down the far shelf. Best pegs 2 – 10, 25, 42 – 48 and 52 – 60.
GEARYS The carp have finally started to show with fish to 15lb weighed in during matches. Method feeder fished to the middle stumps or to an island is best for carp. Plenty of skimmers and roach are showing all around the pool to pole fished maggot, pellet or chopped worm and caster. Top pegs 1, 6, 7, 11 – 13, 20, 29, 31 and 36.
LITTLE GEARYS Fished really well in the Maver Match This qualifier with two 80lb+ weights and lots of 50lb catches. F1’s feeding really well but carp and skimmers also featuring long pole with pellet fished shallow is working really well but fishing down the margin with meat, corn or pellet is also catching lots of fish. Top pegs are 7, 13 – 21 and 26 – 30.
GRATUITIES The carp are feeding well with lots of fish from 2 – 10lb being caught on pole fished corn or meat fished down the edge. Waggler fished shallow with pellet or corn is catching on the island pegs.
WILLOW A feeder to the island or float fishing down the edge are the tactics for the better stamp fish with corn, meat or pellet. Carp, tench and F1’s are all going well and the best pegs are 1 – 6.
ANNIVERSARIES Carp are starting to show with the early pegs 1 – 5 and 9 are giving the best chance of fish into double figures with corn sorting the better fish. There have been lots of skimmers, F1’s and small carp coming to the pole and pellet.
