REPORT

MOLANDS   Molands has been a bit up and down this week with the colder nights making sport harder during the week but as the weather improved so did the fishing.  Pole and pellet on the deck was the top tactic fishing long at 10 – 14.5 metres with banded hard pellet.  Shallow pole and pellet or pellet waggler also catching a few fish especially on the warmer days.  Top pegs 2 – 6, 12 – 17, 29 – 33, 44 – 48 and 56 – 60.

GEARYS   Picked up at the weekend with carp to 16lb caught during matches.  The top tactic is to fish the method feeder out to the middle stumps.  The big skimmers have been showing well along the high bank with fish to 4lb falling to corn or pellet fished on the pole.  Top pegs are 7 – 13, 19 – 21 and 31 – 36.

LITTLE GEARYS   The best tactic is shallow all the way with long pole and pellet, pellet waggler or candle all catching well at the moment.  Match weights to 90lb+ caught during the week with good nets being caught all around.  Corn or meat fished down the edges is also working well at the moment.  Pegs 1 – 3, 7 – 13 and 21 – 25.

GRATUITIES   On Grats, the corner pegs are still the favourite with carp to double figures.  There are plenty of small samples, tench and skimmers showing.  Float fished corn, meat or caster fished down the margins is working best but along the straights, a small pellet feeder is better fished tight up to the island.

WILLOW   This pool is fishing well with a feeder to the island the top tactic this week catching F1’s, carp and skimmers.  Float fished corn or pellet fished down the margins later in the day is catching the bigger sized carp with fish in the 3 – 8lb range coming out to this.  Top pegs 1, 5, 7 and 11 – 13.

ANNIVERSARIES   The top end of the pool from 1 – 9 has been the best area where carp, F1’s, skimmers and crucians are being caught in large numbers.  The warmer weather at the weekend saw catches improve around the pool with the lawn area starting to pick up.
