Fantastic fishing this week with Tom Charlton from Mickleton was on an angling coaching session with Gary Wardle of Wear Valley Angling he weighed in over 180lb of Carp from 5lb to 10lb on peg 8 Bowes fishing angel pellets banded 10mm on hook and fed angel 6mm pellets
Norman Laing having a days pleasure fishing instead of match fishing on Lookout estimated a day of well over 400lb weight, all at his feet in the margins and all on Angel pellets, he agrees with me the fish know when the matches are on and dislike match keepnets by backing of till there are no nets in hen feed like mad. He caught mainly Carp and 40 to 60 crucians.
Mark Bensley fishing from 5.30 am to noon caught constantly from peg 40 Bowes his average fish was 10lb with some cracking double figured as well, all caught on pellet.Peter Woods on Lookout targeted silvers and caught ide, skimmers, Rudd and Roach he changed to pellet up in the water and then targeted carp, changing to worm next and catching a perch of 3lb 8oz, his day ended with in excess of 300lb he went home happy but knackered with the number of fish caught on peg 5.
Bassetts has been catching so very well still with ide to 2lb 10oz, best carp was 6lb 10oz, and crucians, rudd, roach, tench first timer Joel Winter with his dad teaching him caught 12 carp on pellet, then 27 gudgeon, 4 rudd, as well as 3 roach, 8 skimmers, all caught on maggot and fed maggot, a happy new angler for the future.
