REPORT
MOLANDS In good form for most of the week although the cooler conditions at the weekend slowed sport a little. Carp to 15lb caught in matches and the big F1’s are showing well too, with fish to 5lb. Top tactics have been pellet or method feeder fished to the island with meat, polony or banded hard pellet on the hook. Shallow tactics have also caught well with pellet waggler or long pole and pellet catching F1’s. Best pegs 2, 9, 11, 18, 26, 31, 40 – 46, 55, 59 and 60.
GEARYS Carp to nearly 20lb have featured in catches this week with pleasure anglers reporting bags of up to 20 fish with surface baits. In the matches, bomb and pellet is doing best for carp and the skimmers are coming best to worm/caster or pellet fished long on the pole. Top pegs are 1, 7, 13, 18, 19, 24, 27, 29, 31 and 36.
LITTLE GEARYS Very up and down over the last week with some big weights topped by Jamie Clarkson’s 121lb during Tony’s Open on Wednesday but sport slowed down at the weekend following the frost on Saturday night. Shallow tactics have been best with pellet waggler or long pole and pellet/caster. Top pegs are 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, 17, 21, 25 and 29.
GRATUITIES Carp to double figures are still showing to the pellet waggler or surface baits. Mixed nets of crucians, skimmers, tench and carp are coming to pole fished maggot, caster or small expander pellet. The top pegs have been 1, 2, 6, 8, 9 and 15.
WILLOW Pegs 1, 3, 5 and 6 have been in good form with long pole and pellet/caster or pellet waggler fished up to the island accounting for good nets of carp and F1’s.
PACKINGTON SOMERS FISHERY
SIBLINGS A Carp in the 2 – 4lb bracket have given the best sport with long pole and pellet or a small waggler fished up to the island is the best tactic with expander pellet or maggot the best bait. Best pegs 1 – 5, 15, 19 and 21.
SIBLINGS B Fishing really well with lots of small carp, F1’s, skimmers and tench being caught. Short pole fished down the edge or straight out in front has been best with pellet, maggot or corn all working well. Best pegs 4, 5, 7, 9, 10 and 14.
