REPORT
MOLANDS The top bait has been red maggot either fished on the long pole at
13 metres or the waggler and the key to success is spraying maggots all the time for F1’s to 4lb and the odd carp or tench. Pellet feeder with punched bread on the hook is another good tactic at the moment. Best pegs are 2, 8, 15, 27 – 31, 43 – 48 and 56 – 60.
GEARYS Fished well at the weekend with lots of skimmers showing along with a few carp into double figures. Pole fished caster or soft pellet caught nets to 35lb with the high bank pegs 7 – 13 best for mixed catches. The carp are showing better on pegs
18 – 21 and 31 – 36.
LITTLE GEARYS A bit of up and down on Little Gearys this week with one day fishing well all round the pool and the next very patchy. Some good weights were caught fishing shallow with pellet or caster and a tiny pellet feeder is also accounting for a few fish at the moment. Best pegs were 5, 7, 10 – 15, 21 and 26 – 29.
GRATUITIES There were some lovely mixed nets of crucians, skimmers, carp and tench caught during the week with pole fished expander or caster catching nets to nearly 50lb. A few bigger carp are coming to the waggler and punched bread fished up to the island. Best pegs were 1, 4, 8, 9, 11 and 16.
WILLOW F1’s have provided the best of the action with pole fished pellet working well on the early pegs 1 – 3 and 5 – 7. A waggler fished up to the island with punched bread or small pellet is catching a few carp and F1’s as well.
SIBLINGS A & B Both pools have fished a little hard this week with catches to 40lb on Siblings A and up to 58lb on Siblings B. Pole fished pellet or red maggot has been the top tactic but in the windier conditions a small maggot feeder has been working well too.
