REPORT
MOLANDS It has been a lot tougher on Molands this week with the rise in temperatures seeing the first signs of fish spawning. Match weights to 80lb were best with the carp making up the better catches and fish to 20lb were weighed in this week. Pellet feeder, candle or pellet waggler have all caught carp and maggot or pellet down the margins has been best for F1’s. Best pegs are 2, 4, 12 – 15, 27 – 31, 44 – 48 and 56 – 60.
GEARYS The carp have responded to the warmer temperatures with match weights to nearly 100lb this week and fish to 19lb reported by pleasure angles. Bomb with pellet or boilies has been the top tactic with the pellet waggler also worth a try. The skimmers have been spawning so catches are down but later in the day good nets have been had by fishing pellet short or chopped worm and caster. Best pegs are 9 – 13, 17 – 21, 27, 31 and 36.
PACKINGTON SOMERS FISHERY
LITTLE GEARYS Steady this week with lots of nets around the 40 – 60lb range coming from all around the pool. The fish are coming best later on for matches and pleasure sessions in the margins to maggot, pellet or caster fished close in at 3 – 5 metres. A small pellet waggler fished to the island is the tactic to start on with the fish eventually moving off the island and closer in. Best pegs are 1, 3, 7, 12, 19 – 24 and 27 – 29.
GRATUITIES Carp have been showing well on Grats this week with fish to double figures being caught down the margins on corn, meat or big expanders with plenty in the 2 – 4lb also being caught, Lots of crucians are coming to pole and pellet or caster as well. Best peg are 1- 4, 8, 9, 15 and 16.
WILLOW On the pegs that can reach the island, pole and pellet fished across has been catching plenty of F1’s and carp to 3lb with the odd bigger carp. On the other pegs, pellet waggler fished tight across has been the top tactic. Carp to 15lb have been caught fishing down the margins with corn or pellet as well.
SIBLINGS A Pleasure anglers have enjoyed good sport on Sibs A with carp to double figures, F1’s, ide and skimmers are showing as well to pole fished pellet or meat over micro pellets. Match weights to 50lb best this week but decent sport has been had from most pegs.
SIBLINGS B Probably the most inform pool on the complex this week with match weights to nearly 100lb which have been made of various fish with F1’s, small carp and tench showing best. Pole fished pellet right across to the far bank has been the best tactic with pegs 3 – 11 all in good form.
ANNIVERSARIES A little bit patchy this week but if you are on the fish sport can be excellent with some big bream to 5lb showing, F1’s, small carp and ide all coming to pole fished pellet or caster. Best pegs have been 1 – 6, 8, 12 and 19 – 23.
