REPORT
MOLANDS With the fish still spawning at the start of the week it is always going to be a bit testing but sport has improved as the weather turned cooler. Lots of methods have caught with shallow tactics either pellet waggler or long pole and pellet probably the best tactics at the moment with carp and F1’s responding to this. There are lots of crucians and a few tench being caught on the inside with meat, caster or hard pellet accounting for some lovely nets. Top pegs are 2, 8, 12, 15, 23, 29, 33, 42 – 48 and 56 – 60.
GEARYS It was a mixed week on Gearys with pleasure anglers enjoying the best of the action fishing on the top with surface baits such as bread or dog biscuit and catching carp to nearly 20lb along with plenty of double figure samples. In the matches, catches to 70lb+ have been caught and pole fished with pellet shallow or with corn down the margins have been the top methods. Best pegs are 1, 7 – 13, 17, 19 – 23, 27, 31 and 41.
LITTLE GEARYS On Little Gearys it is still very steady fishing with decent nets being caught from most pegs without the big weights. The better bags are being caught close in with caster, maggot or pellet down the first shelf or right tight to the margin for F1’s, carp, crucians and a few tench now showing too. Best pegs are 1 – 5, 8 – 12, 19 – 21 and 23 – 26.
GRATUITIES Lots of crucians are being caught all round the pool with fish in the 12oz to 1lb range in nets to 30lb on caster or soft pellet. Some good carp catches also with pellet waggler accounting for nets to 50lb+. Top pegs are 1, 4, 6 – 9 and 14 – 16.
WILLOW Lots of F1’s are being caught in the 1 – 2lb range with shallow pole and pellet the top tactic for these. Carp are coming to corn or meat fished down the margins or tight to the island on a small method/pellet feeder.
SIBLINGS A More fish are starting to be caught close in down the edges with meat over micros catching carp, mainly in the 1 – 3lb range but the odd fish to double figures coming out too. Plenty of ide and silver fish have been caught on caster shallow as well.
SIBLINGS B On Siblings B it is mainly F1’s this week with lots being caught on pole and pellet fished tight to the far bank. Best pegs are 5 – 11.
