FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 30/4/17
Last week 41 rods caught 258 fish for an average of 6.29 fish per rod
It has been a quieter week on the fishery but the anglers who have fished enjoyed really good sport with lots of fish moving on the top and coming to dries.
The largest fish of the week was an 8lb 12oz rainbow which was safely returned by Paul Flanner of Worcester who was fishing catch and release from a boat and caught over 20 fish including others at 6lb 4lb and 5lb 10oz. Small Buzzers and Leeches proved to be the downfall for Paul’s fish. Steve Usher of Stratford fished from the bank of both Cocks Close and Park Meadow catching and releasing eight fish and all of these came to Buzzers fished on a floating line. Alec Twaites of Coventry had a 6lb rainbow from the bank of Cocks Close which was the best of an eight fish catch and all fell to a white Humungus fished on an intermediate line.
Allan Bowen of Birmingham fished Park Meadow pool from a boat and caught seven fish to 6lb with tiny Buzzers fished on a floating line working best for him.
The top flies are black, olive or red Buzzers, Damsel Nymph, suspender Buzzers, dry Olives, Emergers and Hoppers.
The best areas have been the road bank, wires bank and around the middle willows on Cocks Close. The dam wall on Park Meadow has been fishing well for boat anglers.
The Fishery is open from 8am until dusk.
