REPORT

MOLANDS The fishing has improved and it is fishing really well now with big nets of F1s and carp being caught. The five-hour match record was smashed by Daniel Tresigne who caught 185lb in Wednesday’s Open fishing pellet shallow at 10 metres and catching carp to 10lb and F1s to 6lb. Good sport to be had from all areas of the pool with shallow tactics with pellet waggler or long pole and pellet/caster producing the bigger nets. Meat or corn down the edge later on is also catching lots of fish.

GEARYS A mixed week with nets to 80lb+ caught in matches and pleasure anglers reporting bigger catches fishing through into the evening. Carp to 18lb have featured with a good average sized of fish around the 8 – 10lb mark being caught. Bomb with pellet or wafter is the top tactic but method/pellet feeder is also producing a few. Good mixed nets of skimmers, small carp and crucians are being caught especially along the dam wall with pellet, corn or caster fished close in working best.

LITTLE GEARYS Another pool that has seen a dramatic improvement in sport with catches to over 100lb and big back up weights this week. The F1s have switched on and lots of tactics have worked with pellet waggler, shallow pole and pellet or meat down the margins all accounting for big catches. Generally fishing well all round the pool but pegs 1 – 7 have been great form.

GRATUITIES Plenty of carp being caught off the top with fish in the 6 – 10lb range coming to dog biscuit or big expanders. Pole fished pellet or caster is accounting for mixed nets of carp, crucians, tench and skimmers with pegs 1 – 6 the top pegs at the moment.

ANNIVERSARIES Like all the pools the fishing has been very good in areas with plenty of F1s showing along with bream on the 3 – 5lb range. Worm and caster are best for the bream and pellets are working well for F1s to 3lb. Best pegs have been 2 – 8, 17 and 21 – 23.

WILLOW Fishing well with F1s, carp, crucians and the odd big tench being caught. The F1s are being caught shallow or down the edges on paste or meat. The biggest carp are coming to surface baits and fish to 16lb have been caught this week on this.

SIBLINGS A (Doughnut) Good nets of F1s and ide coming to caster or maggot fished shallow. The bigger carp are being caught on meat or corn fished tight across to the island or down the margins.

SIBLINGS B (Horseshoe) Pole and pellet fished shallow are catching lots of F1s from 8oz – 2lb. Ide, skimmers and tench are coming to worm, caster or big expander pellets fished down the margins.
