Amazon-Angler.com’s most recent expedition into the jungle rivers of Guyana in South America has produced a string of trophy paraiba catfish or ‘Lau’.

Our exclusive Jaguar Explorer camp is a mobile operation that allows us to take our clients to the most remote, and best fishing, based on the prevailing conditions.

The group of eight anglers is currently on their way back but guide Steve Townson has been in touch to tell us they have had a brilliant trip with the highlight being a series of Lau catfish going 150lb, 160lb, 180lb and some over 200lb.

Paraiba, also known as the ‘freshwater shark’, are the river giants of the catfish world, thought to grow to over 400lb. One the fish caught is pictured below – more to follow….
