REPORT
MOLANDS Despite a covering of ice early in the week the fishing has been ok on Molands with nets to 90lb caught and carp to 19lb 6oz featuring in catches. Bomb and bread, waggler and pellet, maggot feeder and pole with pellet and maggot have all caught a few fish. Best areas have been 25 – 31, 41 – 46 and 56 – 60.
GEARYS The cold weather knocked sport early in the week but improved through the weekend with carp showing around the pool. Waggler with pellet and bomb and bread were the best tactics for fish into double figures. Silver nets to 20lb were caught on long pole with maggot or expander pellet.
LITTLE GEARYS Pegs on the far side from 7 – 15 and on the carpark bank from 25 – 29 have been the most consistent. Pellet feeder fished to the island has caught carp and F1s and maggot feeder or pole with maggot has also accounted for decent nets of F1s.
ANNIVERSARIES The best pegs this week have been 1 – 5, 8, 14 and 15 with F1s to 4lb, ide, skimmers and the odd decent carp being caught. Pole fished pellet or maggot has been the most consistent tactic but a maggot feeder fished into the open water is also worth a try.
GRATUITIES In decent form with nets of carp to 50lb and silver catches to 25lb. The carp are coming to pole with pellet or corn, bomb/waggler with punched bread or a small pellet feeder to the island. Maggot or caster fished on the pole is seeing lots of skimmers and quality roach being caught.
SIBLINGS A Frozen over for the early part of the week but sport picked up at the weekend albeit very patchy with pegs 1 – 4 and 17 – 21 producing carp, F1s and ide to pole fished bread, maggot and pellet.
SIBLINGS B Much better this week with catches to 65lb and F1s showing on all pegs. Pole fished maggot/caster/pellet fished at around 13 metres has been best but feeding maggots by hand at five metres has also worked well.
WILLOW A little bit harder than last week but pleasure anglers reported nets of carp and F1s to around 40lb. Pole fished hard pellet or bomb/waggler with bread were the best tactics.
