REPORT
MOLANDS An very up and down week with contrasting weather over the last few days. Frosts and high pressure have seen the F1 sport suffer but carp were willing to have a go and fish to 15lb featured in nets to 90lb. Bomb and bread or waggler and pellet fished tight across, particularly around the far bank reed beds was the best approach. Maggot feeder accounted for catches of F1s to 30lb.
GEARYS Still tough with catches of five or six carp in a session at best. Bomb with pellet or bread or a small hybrid feeder and wafter have worked best and the fish seem to be around the middle of the pool with pegs 10 – 13, 18 – 20 and 27 – 31 providing the most fish.
LITTLE GEARYS Like all of the F1s pools, it has been quite tough on Little Gearys this week with nets to around 40lb best. Maggot feeder, waggler with pellet/bread or bomb and bread have accounted for the better catches. The middle of the straights on both sides have been the best areas.
ANNIVERSARIES Nets to around 40lb of mainly F1s but small carp and ide also featuring. Pole fished maggot or pellet has worked best on most pegs but on the more open pegs a small pellet or maggot feeder also catching.
GRATUITIES Bomb and bread or a small pellet feeder fished tight to the island has produced carp from 3 – 6lb. There have been plenty of silvers showing to long pole with caster, maggot or pinkies fished over ground bait.
SIBLINGS A The clear water is making it very patchy although if you on the fish you can have a good day with carp and F1s coming to pole fished bread against the island on maggot/pellet fishing down the middle.
SIBLINGS B Fished hard through the week but the F1s switched on a little at the weekend. Pole with maggot fished short is the best way of catching in numbers and dobbing bread also picking up a few fish.
WILLOW The carp made up the better nets with fish to double figures featuring in nets to 70lb. Bomb or waggler with bread fished up against the island has worked best. F1s in nets to 40lb are coming to pole fished expanders over micros.
