FISHING REPORT
MOLANDS . The very warm weather saw the carp and f1s cruising around on or near the surface for much of the time and shallow tactics like pellet waggler or surface fishing with dog biscuits accounted for carp to over 20lb and f1s to 8lb. A busy week with night anglers and there were some good catches reported with up to 20 fish being caught and including many fish into double figures with boilies fished tight up to the island or down the margins working best.
GEARYS . Fished well this week with match weights to over 140lb and carp to over 22lb being caught. The best tactics in matches have been the pellet waggler, pole and hard pellet both shallow or on the bottom and method feeder with wafter or dead maggot on the hook. Carp anglers have caught well using a boilie fished over a PVA bag out to the middle stumps.
LITTLE GEARYS Fished a little harder this week with nets to 80lb coming out in matches . A small method or pellet feeder with wafter or banded 4mm pellet on the hook, pole fished meat or banded hard pellet fished short or down the margins have been the top tactics. Pegs 7 – 13 and 23-29 have been the most consistent pegs.
ANNIVERSARIES Nets to around 60lb best with pegs 1-10 and 14-17 most consistent. Pole fished pellet or caster shallow and on the deck has been working well ,on the wider areas ,waggler or bomb with 6mm pellet has been picking up a few fish.
SIBLINGS A Fished a little more consistent this week with match nets to 85lb with carp to 15lb and f1s to 6lb featuring in catches. The best tactic has been fishing long down the margins on corn ,dead reds or pellet fished over micros. Shallow pellet or caster is also starting to produce and a mugging rig can pick up a few better sized carp.
SIBLINGS B . Nets to over 60lb this week with the bigger f1s starting to switch onto the caster fished shallow or down the edges. The bigger carp are coming to dobbing along the far side or to corn or dead maggots fished tight up to the far bank or down the margins with fish into double figures showing.
GRATUITIES Carp nets to around 70lb coming to a method feeder to the island, pellet waggler or down the margins on corn or meat. Nice mixed nets of carp ,f1s, skimmers ,roach and even a few chub coming to pole fished maggot or caster .
WILLOW Shallow pole with caster or pellet is accounting for the bigger catches with carp and f1s to 5lb coming to this. Pellet waggler or method feeder to the island is also working and later in the day carp and f1s are coming down the margins with meat ,corn or worms fished over micros accounting for some nice fish.
