At the Thursday Kobra Affordable Open at Dynamite Baits Makins, gale force winds made fishing difficult but weights remained good.
Top weight fell to Long Eaton Victoria stalwart Dave Kent. Fishing peg 8 on inner Avon, Dave started catching bream and small carp on corn presented on long pole fished into open water, and in the latter stages landed a string of bigger carp on luncheon meat fished in the margins to total 95 lb 12 oz.
Whitley AC angler Alan Walton caught his 78 lb of carp on paste fished to the island and later, the margins.
Next Thursday Kobra Affordable will be on Snake & Crater on 17th September, draw 9.45 in the Dynamite Baits Makins Phase 2 car park.

Report:
Fished in strong gusting winds and heavy rain showers, the Wednesday Kobra Affordable Open at Dynamite Baits Makins on Lake 2 fished excellently, recording an average weight per angler of over 90 lb.
Venue expert Andy Findlay (Korum), on peg A15 cast his pellet feeder 60 yards with unerring accuracy to catch carp steadily throughout to record 162 lb and another win.
Second placed Eddie Keene (Coventry) used method feeder fished to the island at first and then in the margins for his 151 lb from peg B17, with Jarrad Smith (Mallory) fishing method feeder placed towards the island on peg B13 for a mixed carp and bream catch of 144 lb 8 oz for third place.
