Hardy & Greys is set to accelerate the growth and development of its highly regarded brands within the German market.
The Northumbrian fishing tackle company has created a new company, which took over the exclusive distribution rights in Germany for its very successful Carp fishing brand, ‘Chub’, on October 2.
Called Hardy & Greys GmbH, the new company has taken on the distribution previously handled by Blanchard’s Angling, which had been the exclusive distributor for Chub in Germany for the past 9 years.
MD Richard Sanderson said that Hardy & Greys have always had ambitions to establish its own wholly owned subsidiary in Germany. This will allow the company to significantly increase its Sales & Marketing resources to gain a much bigger share of the German market.
“I am personally very excited about this new opportunity,” he added.
“Over the past nine years Blanchard’s Angling has grown both its sales revenues and customer base within the German market whilst developing a strong trading relationship with Hardy & Greys Ltd which we can now build on.”
The new German arm of Hardy & Greys operates from the existing Blanchard’s warehouse and offices, which have undergone major refurbishment including the installation of a new operating and computer system.
Hardy & Greys GmbH began trading with customers in Germany from early October and all enquiries are being directed to the current address and contact details for Blanchard’s Angling.
From January 1 2008, Hardy & Greys GmbH will also manage the exclusive product distribution for the Hardy, Greys, and Fishpond products in the German market.
Hardy & Greys would also like to thank personally all the staff and management at Exori GmbH who have very successfully acted as distributor for the companies products over the past 10 years. Commenting on this change Richard Sanderson said, ‘We are very grateful for the fantastic support we have received over the years from Exori, and although these are exciting times for Hardy & Greys we are sad to be ending this successful relationship’.
The company will be writing to all customers in November outlining their sales and marketing plans for the balance of this year and 2008.
