Young anglers in Bury are accessing quality coaching delivered by newly Clubmark accredited NFA club Radcliffe AS.

Through their own hard work and with support from Julian Taylor, ADB Clubs/Volunteer officer, they have been able to join an increasing number of angling clubs that have met the required standard for accreditation.

They run Junior coaching sessions every Tuesday evening, and last week Clare Mcleod, National Clubmark Manager, was on hand to present them with their award. This is the first time that Clare has had the opportunity to undertake a Clubmark presentation.

She said, “It was a fantastic evening that showed the club was well organised and welcoming. There is a confidence around everything that the club does, from crucial health and safety procedures to the coaches and the volunteers I met who were second to none. It is clear that the club is really making a difference in the local community, encouraging many young people to have a go!”
