TEK-NEEK Trabucco has agreed a sponsorship deal with Fosters Tipton that will see long-time sponsors Van Den Eynde taking a back seat and the Fosters name also being dropped.
The West Midlands squad will now to be known as Team Tek-Neek Trabucco thanks to a five-figure deal, which includes clothing, luggage and accessories.
The team has a fantastic track record in National competitions, winning in two consecutive Nationals – the Division 5 on the Oxford Canal and the Division 4 on the Basingstoke Canal.
Last they finished second on the Erewash Canal and the team has also qualified for the winter league semi-final on the Shropshire Union Canal at Stoudley effectively a ‘home’ venue for the team. It has also qualified for the Drennan Super League final in 2003 to be held at White Acres in Cornwall.
“The quality in the outfit is illustrated by the fact that five of its 22-man squad have reached the Kamasan British Open this year,” said a spokesman for the new sponsors.
“Another exciting aspect we took into consideration is the average age of the team, which is only 25.
“All of this makes them a team to watch over the next few years and we believe there is stacks of potential there.”
Neil Russell, squad captain, said: “We have a very exciting time ahead and we wish to thank Tek-Neek Trabucco for this sponsorship.
“We believe that they are the most forward thinking company in the sport, with lots of exciting new products. We can help each other and hopefully progress together.”
