After weeks of speculation, Fox Match is pleased to announce that four-time World Angling Champion Bob Nudd has joined Fox Match. He officially started his role as Match Consultant on May 1st.
Bob joins Fox Match following a hugely successful 24 years working for Browning Zebco – the longest running sponsorship agreement in angling. During this time Bob has grown to become the world’s most well-known and respected angler with magazine articles appearing throughout Europe, as well as many DVD, television and show appearances.
Commenting on the appointment Steve Cole, Fox International media and publicity manager, said: “There is no bigger name in match fishing than Bob Nudd. He is admired and respected by anglers the world over, regardless of their age, and is still winning matches regularly today.
“Bob is an incredibly loyal person. He worked tirelessly for Browning over a 28 year period, an incredible partnership that is testament to both parties involved. But, people move on and Browning’s loss is undoubtedly our gain.”
Bob’s role see him continue his media work throughout the UK and Europe as well as developing a number of new products.
“Bob has an extensive knowledge of fishing in both the UK and on the continent. He will be working closely with our team of product developers to design, develop and launch new products suited to specific countries and styles of fishing,” explained Steve.
Commenting on the move, Bob had this to say:
“I am delighted to be joining Fox Match at such an exciting time in the company’s history. The products are first-class with some exciting developments in the pipeline,” said Bob.
“It was always going to be a huge decision to leave Browning, but from my first meeting with Fox I was impressed with the excitement buzzing around the place. The team are incredibly creative and passionate about growing the Fox Match brand into the biggest in the world.”
As of May 1st Bob will be completely kitted out in Fox Match products. He’ll be using the new MSB Match System seatbox, the award-winning Elite Luggage and top-of-the-range Envoy Elite pole.
He’ll be keeping his trademark White Cap. His new clothing will be in the red/black Fox Match colours.
