Total-Fishing can reveal that following a meeting today (Friday March 4th) Drennan England WILL attend the men’s world championships in Russia in September.
Speaking to editor Gareth Purnell, NFA press officer Rodney Couldron said: “Terry Feel and Dick Clegg have agreed to send a team after consulting at length today. The decision is subject to Martin Salter MP gaining approval from the Government.”

Until today such a move has seemed unlikely in the light of major doubts about security, and a Government directive not to travel to Moscow. However, the deputy mayor of Moscow has assured the team on the security issue and this was a key factor in today’s decision.
They have also had assurances about the safety of the equipment, amidst rumours that there was every chance of expensive tackle ‘going missing’ at the border. A press release from the NFA is pending and we’ll print it when we get it.
