Anglers in Kent, East and West Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight are needed to help the Environment Agency create a better place.

The Environment Agency is looking for two members to join the Regional Fisheries, Ecology and Recreation Committee (RFERAC) and two to join the Regional Environment Protection Advisory Committee (REPAC). RFERAC advises on maintaining, improving and developing fisheries as well as conservation, ecology, recreation and navigation issues. REPAC focuses on the Environment Agency’s environmental protection duties.

Meeting four times a year, committee members bring their knowledge and ideas to the table and discuss how to improve and protect the environment.

Whatever your views and interests there could be an important role for you to play. The committees perform a vital role by objectively looking at the Environment Agency’s work and advising on policy, implementation and priorities. Individuals of all backgrounds are encouraged to become members to ensure the committees accurately reflect the environment they serve. It is important that people have a sound knowledge of their local area and an interest in the environment.

The Environment Agency is inviting nominations from organisations and applications from individuals. Candidates should live in the Environment Agency’s Southern Region which covers Kent, East and West Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
