Two fly-fishing coaching days, sponsored by the Environment Agency, Hardy and Greys and the Salmon and Trout Association, have been arranged for the weekend (19/20) with Sunday as a ladies-only day.
The days aim to give people the opportunity to try fly-fishing and improve their fly-casting skills. Graham Gamble said: ‘This will be a really enjoyable event and we hope that people will go away with improved skills and a real appreciation of this wonderful sport.’
The event is free and will give people the opportunity for a free coaching session on how to cast a fly. There will be at least three qualified game angling instructors on hand with all the equipment necessary and ready to give helpful hints and tips on technique.
The Salmon and Trout Association will have a tent on site and the Environment Agency will have staff on site with a pond dipping and invertebrate table complete with microscope to get up close and personal with weird and wonderful water creatures.
Refreshments and toilets will be available on the day and there will be plenty of parking close to the pumping station.
