England finished third behind Hungary and Belgium in the European Match Fishing Championships held on the River Sava, Radece, Slovenia – with England’s Steve Hemingray taking the individual gold.

The event saw a new ‘split section’ points scoring system introduced which Total-Fishing.com understands will also be implemented in the 2009 World Match Fishing Championships in Holland in September.
