If you’ve got a spare couple of hours this Saturday (October 6) you might want to consider popping into The Big One, the biggest one day tackle event in the Midlands, which is taking place at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena.
It’s the second year of the show at the Ricoh from the organisers of the biggest tackle show in the south of England, and they hope to attract over 5000 visitors. Around 3000 attended last year.
There will be 45 retailers on hand selling branded and unbranded goods at bargain prices, plus several top anglers including Des Taylor and Rob Hitchens demonstrating their SBS and Yorkshire Bait ranges. Anglers will be able to buy carp, match and sea fishing tackle from the likes of Shimano, Preston Innovations, Hardy Greys, Nash, Penn, Zziplex and Chub, plus new ranges from Milo, FAPS and Maver.
Parking is free, with the doors opening at 9am. An all-day ticket is £6, a half-day ticket from 1pm, £3. For more information or to book a reduced price ticket, call 0871 720 0977.
