The Riddings at Atherstone is known to most anglers for its general coarse and match fishing, but the venue also has a Specimen Pool that’s produced carp to nearly 40lb in the past.

 The latest angler to prove what the pool can produce is Richard Forde, who landed a stunning 30lb 13oz common carp. The best thing about this lake is that it’s fishable on a day ticket, although if you plan on fishing at the weekend it’s best to book first. The Specimen Pool costs £12
