Anglers have been finding it tough going on Packington Somers’ coarse lakes, but the trout waters fished really well right up until Sunday when they froze over with a rod average of nearly three.
Highlight of the week was undoubtedly a 13lb 8oz rainbow trout caught from the bank at Cock’s Close by a Nuneaton angler who had his five fish limit.
There was also a rainbow of 8lb to Ray Askill, also caught from the bank on a Pheasant Tail nymph and floating line. Plus a boat-caught 7lb 12oz fish to Matt Bird, part of an 11-fish catch on small nymphs fished on a floating line.
