‘Le Rêve’ is on the edge of a peaceful hamlet in picturesque countryside, 15 mins from mediaeval Bourganeuf with it’s château, weekly market, shops, restaurants and bars.

Anglers can choose from managed lakes and running water eg. a 10 minutes walk away is the River Thaurion, a 10 minute drive in one direction is the lake at St. Dizier-Leyrenne, in the other the 35 hectare lake at Châtelus-le-Marcheix, with a café open during the summer, 45 minutes away is the 1000 hectare Lac de Vassiviere

Limoges known for it’s fine porcelain is 35 mins away (50 mins to the airport with cheap daily flights to Stansted

Les Loup de Chabrieres (Forest of Wolves) near Gueret is worth a visit, also the Labrynth (maze), not forgetting the martyred village of St. Oradour-sur-Glane.

Chambres d’Hôtes (B & B) are available in the main farmhouse

The main farmhouse is 200 years old and offers a choice of comfortably furnished rooms with

shared facilities. A substantial continental breakfast is served between 7.30 and 9.00 am (earlier by prior arrangement). Enjoy fruit juice, stewed fruit , yogurt or fromage frais; breads and viennoiserie with butter, honey or jam; coffee, tea or hot chocolate.

Meals can be taken in the sunny courtyard or stunning dining room (converted from the original cow shed ).

The newly renovated 300 year old gîte has a wood burner and electric heaters for year-round comfort.

With an independent entrance and private garden, equipped with barbecue and outdoor dining area enjoying views of the surrounding countryside.

On the ground floor a spacious lounge-diner with feature bread oven, well equipped kitchen, utility area and shower room/toilet. Dishwasher, washing machine, fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, vacuum cleaner, iron and ironing board are all provided for your convenience. Also a small library, board games and french television.

Upstairs are 2 bedrooms – 1 double, 1 twin.
