Dutch angler Jan Jaspers has landed a 387lb bluefin tuna off the Galway coast, the first one taken from any ports outside Donegal.
Jan was fishing with skipper John Brittain, Clifden, owner of the charter boat the Blue Water, which operates daily from Clifden Boat Quay.
“This is excellent news for boat owners operating tourist angling trips off the Galway/Mayo coast as Bluefin tuna angling can become a tremendous tourist angling attraction,” said John.
