Rt Hon Richard Caborn MP will be taking part in the 2008 NFA Veterans National Angling Championship on Wednesday 6th August at Lindholme Lakes near Doncaster.
The Labour MP for Sheffield Central and World Cup 2018 ambassador will be competing against almost 240 anglers as he puts his angling skills to the test in the national angling championships for anglers over 60 years of age.
Talking to Richard Caborn MP he commented, “Angling is one of the largest participation sports in the country and I am really looking forward to Wednesday and experiencing the atmosphere of fishing with some of the top anglers in the country.”
Anglers will be competing on the well known match venue of Lindholme Lakes, a venue which has contributed to a significant increase in the number of participants from last year’s competition.
The last chance for anglers to practice for the national will be midnight on 3rd August, and then it will be the short wait until the day when anglers will have their pegs drawn at 8.30am. Competitors will then be fishing from 11.00am until 4pm where the national champion will be decided.
