Midlands based match anglers are lining up to compete for the biggest prize in match fishing – the £50,000 Match This final at Larford Lakes on August 20th.

With Birmingham’s Grant Albutt already in the line-up, Maver Midlands backed Stu Ballard has booked his final berth following the latest qualifier at Octoplus Boldings Pools. Stu tackled peg 23 on Chestnut Pool where he fished pellet shallow and paste and pellet down the edge to weigh in 113-6-0 – just 2lb ahead of the second placed angler Steve Openshaw. Stu knows the final venue very well and will be feared by the other finalists.
