An impressive 54 anglers braved some horrendous conditions at Heronbrook, as it rained heavily all day long for this year’s Ladies National Championship match. The Ladies National winning weight was beaten by several anglers as the F1s went on a feeding spree in the rain.

England International, Abbi Kendall was crowned Ladies National Champion 2019 after annihilating the opposition with a staggering weight of 86.800Kg from Meadow Lake peg 27, fishing caster shallow at 14.5m, saw Abbi catch F1s all day to set the new match record. This years’ Ladies National Champion qualifies directly for the main Fish’O’Mania Final and this will see Abbi competing for her second year running.

Runner up this year was Shannon Swallow who had an equally productive day on Canal peg 34, also fishing caster shallow saw Shannon put 77.275Kg of F1s into her net. Paige Wardle on Meadow peg 37 also wasn’t too far behind with 71.275Kg of F1s.

On the team front, it was the very strong Lillys Ladies made up of Samantha Sim, Emma Pickering, Abbi Kendall and Katie Crooks that took the title with a combined weight of 214.400Kg ahead of the Dobbing Divas with 165.850Kg.

Shannon Swallow was also presented with the Claire Dagnell Trophy for the best under 21 and the Best up & coming Angler Award. Best carp award went to Marian Begley with a carp of 4.250Kg.
